WEEK 12

✌  What happened during the lesson?

It was a long holiday break without doing any work for ICPD. BUT NOW, we are back and rolling once again!

Before the session started, we received our very own 3D printed key ring that we designed using Fusion 360 during week 7's online tutorial.

For this 3 hours tutorial session, we jumped into the world of digital fabrication where we learnt more about 3D modelling software and 3D printing. One of the reasons why we need to have digital fabrication is that it is excellent for prototyping and improving on one's product.

For this module, we will be exposed to computer aided design and 3D printing. Namely, the technology in 3D printing, common 3D printing materials, introduction to terminologies, how to print quickly and how to print with quality and lastly, news articles on 3D printing.

Different groups had to focus on a certain aspect of the topic and research and present it to the class so that everyone else were able to learn. Basically, adopting the peer teaching approach.

For our group, we were tasked to research on different articles that talked about 3D printing. The slides we did and presented is shown below.

Lastly, we ended off with a quiz on 3D printing, and I got to say, the slides my classmates presented and shared definitely helped me a lot in the quiz. We learnt a lot on 3D printing from this session and we hope we are able to work with an actual 3D printer in the near future!!! 👀
